The story of his life as he tells it circa 1940-1950 / Andrew D. Pambrun ; introduction by C.S. Kingston.

This collection consists of a copy of the manuscript that A.D. Pambrun wrote about his life in the Pacific Northwest. According to the introduction by C.S. Kingston, Pambrun was writing his autobiography near the time of his death. He had completed about 2/3 of it when he passed away. The completion of the story was by a man named Githens, who was a good friend and postmaster in Athena, WA. The manuscript includes a letter written to Cecil O. Pambrun, a descendent, to Margery Bare, also a Pambrun descendent.

Andrew Dominique Pambrun was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, grew up in Canada and the Pacific Northwest. His father was Pierre Chrysologue Pambrun, who worked for the Hudson Bay Co. where he was in charge of Fort Walla Walla. A good deal of information about the Pambrun family is known because they appear in the Whitman letters and in frequent accounts of the missionaries, travelers and traders in the annals of the fur business.
